The Hunger Games Boxset features 3 gripping sci-fi movies that appeal to all ages.

Based on the novels of Suzanne Collins, the Hunger Games films have proved phenomenally popular around the world.

The original The Hunger Games movie was released in 2012, featuring Jennifer Lawrence as 16-year-old Katniss Everdeen, a citizen of the totalitarian post-apocalyptic country of Panem.

Every year, the controlling force known as the Capitol selects one boy and one girl from each of Panem's 12 impoverished rival districts to fight to the death on live national television in a contest known as 'The Hunger Games', in which the winner is given food to feed their entire district for a year.

When her younger sister Primrose is selected as a contestant, Katniss steps up to take her place. Under the tutelage of drunken former champion Haymitch Abernathy (Woody Harrelson), Katniss goes into training for the fight of her life.

Follow-up The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (2013) sees Katniss and new ally Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) return to District 12 to discover growing dissent to the Capitol's rule, and Capitol President Coriolanus Snow (Donald Sutherland) determined to fix the next Games to wipe out any resistance from the districts.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 (2014) takes up the tale as Katniss struggles to adjust to her new role as the 'Mockingjay' in the rebellion against the Capitol and President Snow. Peeta has been captured and brainwashed, so Katniss calls on the help of her friends, including Gale Hawthorne (Liam Hemsworth), Effie Trinket (Elizabeth Banks) and Plutarch Heavensbee (Philip Seymour Hoffman) in the fight to bring down the Capitol and President Snow once and for all.
