The Garmin Varia™ Rearview Radar Tail Light (RTL) helps create safer cycling by warning cyclists of vehicles approaching from behind up to 150 yards (140 metres), and also warns approaching traffic of a cyclist ahead. The Radar Tail Light integrates seamlessly with select Garmin Edge® cycling computers including Garmin Edge 25, 510, 520, 810, 1000 and Edge Touring Plus. Your compatible Garmin Edge GPS bike computer (sold separately) indicates up to eight approaching vehicles from behind, giving the cyclist information about the distance and rate of approach. Not only does the radar system alert the cyclist, it also alerts the vehicles behind. The radar tail light can operate in solid or flashing modes. The tail light brightens and flashes to alert when approaching vehicles are detected for an extra measure of safety. When in flashing mode, it increases flashing intensity as well. GREAT NEWS! Garmin Varia Rearview Radar won the Interbike 2016 Road Accessory of the Year Award.
