This Disney Princess collection features 4 animated tales – Sleeping Beauty, Tangled, Snow White and Little Mermaid.
These timeless Disney movies have all been adapted from fairy tale stories that continue to enchant to this day.
Tangled (2010) is a retelling of the Brothers Grimm tale Rapunzel and focuses on the story of handsome young bandit Flynn Rider hiding out in an old tower deep in the forest, where he discovers a feisty, long-haired beauty.
Rapunzel has been trying to escape from the tower for her entire life and strikes a deal with the dashing outlaw – but the unlikely pair soon find themselves caught up in the adventure of a lifetime as they face magic, monsters and villains in their quest for freedom.
The classic Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937), also based on a fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm, tells the tale of a beautiful girl whose evil stepmother is determined to get rid of her. Alone and lost in the forest, she meets a group of kindly dwarfs – can they save her from the wicked stepmother and her poisoned apple? This wonderful tale has delighted generations of youngsters and remains just as appealing today.
In The Little Mermaid (1989), based on a Hans Christian Andersen story, Ariel is the mermaid daughter of King Triton, and lives beneath the waves. However, Ariel longs to see the world above, especially after rescuing a handsome prince from drowning.
She makes a deal with sea witch Ursula so she can live above the sea in exchange for her beautiful singing voice but soon regrets her decision when it transpires that her father's kingdom is at risk.
Sleeping Beauty (1959), adapted from another Brothers Grimm folk tale, is the tale of Princess Aurora left lost in an endless sleep as a result of a curse put on her by the evil fairy Maleficent. Only a kiss from Prince Phillip can wake Aurora, so 3 good fairies set out to ensure a happy ending.
